The Hungarian orthodoxy is in grave danger! Our finances are in ruins, our religious life is under threat of discontinuation, and our properties are in tragic states! Whatever that was not destroyed during the Shoah was ruined during the communist occupation, then even deteriorated further under poor management. We require aid to survive! The storied 150-year history of our communities must not end!

Hungarian Autonomous Orthodox Jewish Community
Out of the three Jewish federations in Hungary, ours is the smallest with more than 150 years of history to look back on. The federation was established in 1871, and has since been the center, and representative organization for Orthodox Jewish life. Our crown jewels included five synagogues, mikveh/ritual baths, a retirement home, a nursery, and a kindergarten.
